About GIF Ready

GIF Ready is a set of free tools for everyday GIF jobs: compressing a GIF so it fits an upload limit, resizing it, changing its speed, reversing it, or converting it to MP4, WebP or PNG frames.

Why it exists

Most online GIF tools upload your file to a server, add a watermark, or ask you to sign up before you can download the result. GIF Ready does none of that. Pick a file, adjust a few settings, and download the result.

How it works

Every tool runs in your browser. GIF Ready loads gifsicle, a long-standing open-source GIF optimizer, compiled to WebAssembly, along with your browser's built-in image and video encoders. Your files are processed on your own device and are never uploaded to our servers, so the tools work with private images and keep working on a slow connection once the page has loaded.

How the site is funded

The tools are free. The site may show a small number of ads below the tools, served by Google AdSense, to pay for hosting and development. Ads never appear inside the tools or next to the download buttons. See the Privacy Policy for how ads use cookies.
